Program Outcomes
The course is designed to produce multi-talented executives who can enter and excel in the luxury industry in a variety of roles. The course is designed to have an in-depth knowledge of the luxury business environment and the impact of sustainability – centric design strategies, material innovation, and supply chains on global brands.The program focuses on teaching the processes used to design, manufacture, and market luxury products & services.
Students will explore design, materials, production and supply chain, marketing, communications, and prod- uct development, as well as the impact of developing technologies and fashion sustainability. In this program we also highly encourage innovation and entrepreneurship, therefore providing the right environment and skills to create industry leaders.
Thus he/she should have acquired the following-
1. Knowledge and understanding of the following:
- The basics of design and fashion.
- How to build a brand to open an independent design studio.
- How different fabrics and textiles are made and used.
2. The working of the apparel industry.
- How to research and document
- Garment upcycling and recycling
- Information about fabric quality control and detailed fabric knowledge
- Understanding of the concepts of luxury and its history.
- Understanding of how culture influences luxury and understanding different segments of luxury.
- Understanding of fashion technology and the importance of sustainability in fashion.
- Understanding of the relationship between lifestyle & luxury design and its different horizons.
- Understanding of the development of accessories and their design.
- Understanding about business and brand management of luxury goods and brands to know the difference between luxury and rooted brands.
- Understanding of the process of product development and analysing steps to do so.
- Understanding of the relationship between e-commerce and luxury.
3. Skills and competence in designing and constructing all kinds of garments.
4. A Healthy and Professional Attitude so that he/she has:
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team
- Respect for honesty, punctuality and truthfulness
- Ability to plan and organise work to achieve desired results and meet deadlines
- An awareness about own motivations, strengths and areas of improvement
